Proroguing Canadian parliament for seven weeks? Now? What I want to know is what the hell did Steven Harper say to the GG.

I dunno, but I wonder if maybe the GG heard, "I'd like some rope to hang myself with, please."

Unfortunately she was stuck where she had two choices and both would be interventionist. I suspect her constitutional experts told her to go with the choice that was less interventionist. Hopefully she talked to former GG Adrian Claskson and her husband before she decided. They are a pair of smart cookies and, I would like to think, would have given her the best advice possible.

My biggest fear is Harper will ask to have the GG replaced with one of his cronies before house opens in January.
